Welcome to Weekly Spiritual Warfare Devotional: Leader’s Guide, Volume One—The Battle Begins.
This Leader’s Guide was developed from a simple conviction: lasting recovery begins with a transformed heart.
While addiction, fear, anger, pride, bitterness, and other life-controlling struggles affect countless lives, the Bible teaches that our greatest battle is spiritual. Before lasting victory can be experienced, the battle must first be recognized.

Throughout my years of serving in recovery ministry, correctional facilities, chaplaincy, and discipleship, I have seen that people need more than information—they need biblical truth that can be applied to everyday life. Real change does not come through willpower alone. It comes through surrendering to Jesus Christ, renewing the
mind with God’s Word, and learning to walk in obedience to Him.

Volume One: The Battle Begins lays the foundation for that journey. Each lesson is designed to help leaders guide participants in recognizing spiritual warfare, identifying areas of personal struggle, and discovering God’s principles for lasting freedom. As participants grow in their relationship with Christ, they will also develop the spiritual disciplines necessary to continue growing throughout the remaining volumes of this curriculum.

This guide is intended to be practical, biblical, and discussion-oriented. Every lesson is grounded in the King James Version of the Holy Bible and is written to encourage honest conversation, personal reflection, and life application. Whether you are leading a class in a church, recovery ministry, correctional facility, reentry
program, or small group, my prayer is that these lessons will help create an environment where lives are transformed by the power of God’s Word.

Thank you for your willingness to serve others through discipleship. Never underestimate the impact of faithfully teaching biblical truth with love, patience, and consistency. God uses ordinary people who are willing to faithfully invest in others, and your leadership can become part of someone’s story of redemption.

It is my prayer that this curriculum will equip you to confidently lead, faithfully disciple, and point others to the hope and freedom that are found in Jesus Christ alone.
